In 1985, the venerable John Thomson (then editor of the Sycamore Islander) put out a call for articles for the issue that would mark the 100th anniversary of the club. Members responded heartily with poignant reminiscences and some superb writing. Though many members may feel great affection for Sycamore Island today, a peek at some of articles in this collection show clearly that love and loyalty for Sycamore Island has been an enduring element of the membership from the beginning. And in these articles we also learn that we should be grateful to some of our former members, and their often considerable efforts, that we can still enjoy the beauty and adventure of Sycamore Island today. (All articles were written in 1985 unless otherwise noted.)
